‘The Flyway Print Exchange'

The Flyway Print Exchange is a collaboration of
20 artists representing 9 of the East-Asian Australian Flyway countries. Each artist has produced an edition of 30 prints each. One print from each edition will be posted along the Flyway (as is) and back to echo the birds journey. One set of pristine prints will be retained for exhibition purposes, along with the ‘travelled’ prints. The prints will be available for sale, with proceeds to go to BirdLife Australia for the research and conservation of shorebirds. The exhibition aims:

-       To bring together artists from a wide variety of cultural and artistic backgrounds
-       To publicise the age-old linking of our countries through the natural phenomenon of bird migration
-       To raise awareness of migratory shorebirds.

This is an exciting traveling exhibition due to open in September at No-Vacancy Project Space, Federation Square, Melbourne. The opening night is Thursday September 11, 6-8pm.

It will also be shown at the Oz Asia Festival in Adelaide and then tour the regional galleries in South Australia. It will also be on show at the Pine Rivers Regional Gallery in Brisbane and various galleries overseas yet to be confirmed.
