The ‘Book of Sorrows’ is an ode to the Book of Job. The hand bound books contain 13 original hand-coloured etchings, as well as the outline of the story. There are 7 books in the edition, and each also has a satchel to keep it in. The etchings are a narrative of the story and illustrate the words on the opposite page. Five of these etchings have also been developed into editions. They are symbolic of the work as a whole.
The Book of Job has a way of putting life into perspective and the questions and concerns we once argued with God about, become less significant.
